We built ExpressAgain because someone we love needed it.
ExpressAgain started the way most things that truly matter start: with a family trying to help someone they love through an impossible moment.
One team, one plan
Built for the interdisciplinary care team
ExpressAgain is an integrated patient care, communication, and care management platform built for people who can think, read and remember clearly but struggle to speak, as well as people who can speak for themselves but have no safe, trusted way to show whether the care they're receiving is the care they're owed.
As an all-in-one platform, it brings patients together with the families, caregivers, nurses, therapists, physicians and agencies who care for them, so everyone works from one plan, one schedule and one shared record, from the hospital to home.
The same day, the same medications, the same notes, and the same record of who did what and when.
The patient is in the middle, and six kinds of people care for that one person. Every arrow runs between a box and the patient, and the ring runs through all six:
- Families: the daughter, the siblings, the friends who show up.
- Caregivers: aides, CNAs and companions in the home, hired directly or sent by an agency.
- Nurses: RNs and LPNs on visits, shifts and medications, with the visit note.
- Therapists: speech, physical and occupational, with exercises to practice at home.
- Physicians: MDs, DOs, NPs and PAs, reading what changed since the last visit.
- Agencies: the office that staffs, schedules and bills.
All of them work from one plan, one schedule and one shared record: the day plan the family writes is the one the aide follows and every care-team login reads.
Hospice, palliative care and community paramedic clinicians join the care team the same way, with a code from the family.
Our Story
Watching someone you love know exactly what they want to say, and be completely unable to say it, changes you. It's not confusion. It's not a lack of understanding. It's a communication system that has been interrupted, while everything underneath it, the thoughts, the memories, the personality, the love, is still fully there.
We built ExpressAgain because we couldn't find a tool that matched the depth of what our family actually needed. We found apps that helped someone say “I'm hungry” or “I'm in pain.” We didn't find anything that helped someone say “I don't understand why this is happening to me,” or “I want my daughter to make decisions for me,” or “please wait, let me think about this medication before I agree.” So we built it ourselves.
What began as a way to work through aphasia became something more the day our family got a harder answer: glioblastoma, an aggressive brain tumor. Our mother, Debbie, had her biopsy on July 14, 2026 — the day before Glioblastoma Awareness Day. The words the tumor took are the same words ExpressAgain was built to give back, and so the app grew with our story: a place to be heard, a Love Bucket of family voices kept forever, a daily update that keeps everyone close, and Comeback Stories from people who have walked this road. This isn't a forever — because if someone else can get through it, so can she.

The Marketplace is one component of that ecosystem, not the entire business.
What makes the model particularly interesting is that care doesn't stop when someone leaves the hospital. ExpressAgain allows the people managing that patient's daily life to document what is happening and make that information available to the broader care team.
And the Marketplace solves a specific problem within that process: finding, connecting with, scheduling, and hiring the people and services a patient needs.
Meet Willie
Willie E.A. Wise, the ExpressAgain owl
The will of a warrior. The heart of a healer. The wisdom of an owl.
Everyone calls the owl Willie. Willie is at the bottom right of the website and the app: tap the owl and ask how ExpressAgain works, who it helps, or how to reach a person. Inside the app, Willie answers how to do something, with a link to the right page.
Willie answers from the Help Center, cannot see the patient's record, never quotes a price and never gives medical advice. When a question needs a person, Willie shows the way to reach one.
Our Mission
To give people with severe expressive aphasia a way to be fully heard, on the basic needs, on the hard medical questions, on the legal and financial details that keep life running, and on the parts of themselves that have nothing to do with being a patient at all.
Our Approach
ExpressAgain is built around one core belief: reading comprehension and memory are often preserved in aphasia even when speech, writing, and typing are not. So instead of asking someone to generate language they can no longer reliably produce, ExpressAgain lets them recognize, select, and speak language that's already there.
Where We're Headed
ExpressAgain is being built to serve individuals and families first, and to grow into a tool hospitals, rehab centers, and insurers can offer their patients, with the security and infrastructure that healthcare organizations require.
This app carries someone's story in every version of it. We hope it helps carry yours too.
