Where you come in

You stand with families between the hospital, the clinic and home.

Families reach you first

After a stroke, hard news from the doctor or a hard week, a family calls the association, the support group or the foundation. Communicate is something you can hand them that same day, free.

The days between meetings

A group meets on its own schedule. In between, families can talk with other families in the ExpressAgain Support community on MeetMindz, a separate site.

Help without holding the record

A sponsorship pays for a family's access and opens nothing of the record to your organization. The family decides who sees it.

Support with an end date

A sponsorship can run from a start date to an end date. When it ends, the family keeps everything it recorded, and nothing changes for 30 days.

Free for every patient

What you can hand a family today, at no cost to them or to you.

A family creates a free account and the app speaks of the patient by name, as in Sam's words. Every card below is in the app today and links the Help Center article that describes it.

  • Communicate, free for every patient

Tap a phrase and the app says it out loud, free for every patient, always.

    How it works

The Communicate page has Speak, Type and Letters: tap a phrase and it is spoken, build a message piece by piece, have a family member type anything to be spoken, or spell a word on the on-screen letter board. A 3 at a time switch shows fewer choices on calmer days, and there is no timer and no rush.

Tap any phrase to speak it →
  • A phrase library for each condition

Six condition modes, from aphasia and stroke to ALS, the ICU and hospice.

    How it works

The guided setup picks the mode, and its own phrases open first: Aphasia and Stroke (the core library), ICU and Ventilated, ALS and Parkinson's, Dementia and Senior Care, Head, Neck and Throat, and Hospice and Palliative. Every phrase in the library stays available, and each condition has a public page you can send a family before they sign up.

    Who ExpressAgain helps →
  • The patient's own words: Sam's words

Names, places and shows no ready-made library could know, first on every screen.

    How it works

A group named after the patient, such as Sam's words, comes first on Communicate and in the Phrase Library. The family adds a grandson's name, the family church or a favorite show, starting from templates such as Call ___ or I want my ___, and a speech therapist on the care team can add words too.

Your loved one's own words →
  • Practice Out Loud and Learn

Repeat-after-me practice that never grades, and short lessons read aloud.

    How it works

Practice is Hear it, Record my try, Hear my recording, with a gentle goal of ten phrases a day and no grading, ever. Learn holds short lessons in simple words, from What is aphasia and why words get stuck to working with a speech therapist, each one read aloud and marked complete when finished.

  • Support communities on MeetMindz

Groups where families talk with other families, on a separate site.

    How it works

The ExpressAgain Support community on MeetMindz has groups for brain tumor and glioblastoma families, aphasia and stroke, ALS and Parkinson's, dementia, head, neck and throat cancer, ICU and recovery, hospice and palliative care, and the family members doing the caring at home. MeetMindz is a separate site with its own sign-up, and nothing from ExpressAgain is shared with it.

If your program has clinicians

Your speech therapists and nurses join a family's care team by invitation.

Many associations run groups and programs with speech therapists, nurses or other clinicians. They join one family at a time, with the code the family creates for their discipline, and see only what that discipline needs.

  • Your speech therapists, on the family's care team

The family invites your speech therapist with a code, and the exercises land on Practice.

    How it works

Speech, physical and occupational therapists join a family's care team with the single-use code the family creates for that discipline. A therapist assigns exercises that appear on the patient's Practice page, which never grades, and leaves notes the family reads; a speech therapist can also add to the patient's own words. Care-team logins come with the Individual and Family plans, and with a sponsorship of base access.

    Assign exercises and notes →
  • Nurses and other clinicians, one code per discipline

Each discipline has its own code, and each login sees what that discipline needs.

    How it works

Nurses, physicians, palliative care and hospice clinicians, therapists and aides each join with their own discipline's code. Every clinical login reads the day plan and the shared clinical window for that one family, never the family feed, and the family can remove anyone's access from the Care Team page.

  • An organization account, starting in preview

For a program whose clinicians follow many patients: one panel, set up with our team.

    How it works

ExpressAgain can set your program up as an organization, starting in preview with a few patients and a few people from your team, three of each unless agreed otherwise. You enroll a family by email or text: the message names your organization and its location, never the patient, and the family accepts or says not now. A sponsorship alone does not need an organization account.

How to start

Three steps, starting with the families you already serve.

  1. Book the 30-minute sponsor call

Tell us who you serve, about how many families, and whether you want to share the free tools, sponsor families, or both.

  2. Families create their free accounts

Each family signs up on its own, free to start, and Communicate is free for every patient. The account and the record are the family's.

  3. We record your sponsorship

On each family's account, from the start date to the end date agreed with you. The family sees your organization's name on its Care Team page.

One team, one plan

Built for the interdisciplinary care team

An interdisciplinary care team is a group of different health professionals who work together closely with the patient and family to create a single, shared treatment plan. ExpressAgain is the platform where all of those parties care for one patient together: the same day, the same medications, the same notes, and the same record of who did what and when.
