Research

How often does a home care visit start late, end early or not happen?

Not published. No data has been collected for this study, so there is no finding to quote. When findings are published they appear on this page, at this address, with the sample size and margin of error beside every number.

The question

Of scheduled home care visits, what share started more than 15 minutes late, ended more than 15 minutes early, or had no clock-in at all?

Who needs the answer: Families, home care agencies, Medicaid programs, and journalists covering home care.

The method

  • A survey of families who use paid home care professionals, about the past four weeks.
  • Counts from ExpressAgain's own scheduling and clock-in records are used only if the founder and counsel approve it under the Privacy Policy and Terms, and then only as aggregated, de-identified totals.
  • The cut-offs are fixed before any count is run, and visits the family cancelled or moved ahead of time are left out and reported as left out.

Sample: At least 200 families for the survey; for record counts, at least 1,000 scheduled visits across at least 20 homes, both numbers stated.

Privacy and limits

Totals only: never a home, a family or a professional by name or in a way that could point to one. Only aggregated, anonymized results are published, never a raw answer.

Homes that use ExpressAgain are not a random sample of U.S. home care, and the published page says so in its first paragraph.
