For independent home care professionals

Your shifts, your paperwork and your pay, in one app.For every family you work for.

You work directly for families, sometimes several at once. Each family adds you with a code; you clock in at the house, tick the checklist, sign your paperwork in the app and send your invoice from your hours.

Your Marketplace profile is free to create. In the browser on any phone, tablet or computer, with nothing to install.

The situation

You are the professional, the scheduler and the billing office.

ExpressAgain's clock, timesheet and invoice were built for a family paying its own professionals, in the founder's words:

For the home care nurses we need a clock in and clock out system to generate a timesheet and an invoice for them to bill me and for us to pay them via Zelle or Cash App.
Dee Williams, Founder, ExpressAgain

Every family runs it differently

A different house, schedule, checklist and rate in each home. You join each family with its own code, and every family uses the same email and password.

Hours on a text thread

The clock at the house becomes the timesheet, and the timesheet becomes your invoice, with every day of the pay period on it.

Paperwork in the car

Your agreement, W-9, CPR card and license sit under My paperwork, each with a status and, where it applies, an expiry date.

Waiting to be paid

Your pay method goes on every invoice, and the family approves it, pays you and marks it paid in the same app.

Built for fewer texts about hours, and for invoices that match the clock. A pilot measures these with you.

Finding families

A profile families can find, and a code from each family that hires you.

Families search the Marketplace by the kind of care and a ZIP code, post care requests, and send a few questions to the person they are considering. Every card below is in the app today and links the Help Center article that describes it.

  • A Marketplace profile that is yours

A live profile and your own sign-in in one step, with your name masked and never a phone or an email.

    How it works

Join the Marketplace with your role, the ZIP area you work in, an optional rate and the services you offer, and you get a live profile and a real login at once. Families see a first name and an initial, your ZIP area instead of an address, what you chose to share and only the trust lines that are true for you, never a phone or an email.

Join the Marketplace as a professional →
  • Requests from families near you

Requests sent straight to you, and the Open Care Requests board with families looking for care.

    How it works

Provider Home is where your login lives until a family adds you: your profile and whether you are available, the requests families sent straight to you, open requests near you and the jobs you responded to. On the Open Care Requests board each family's name is masked and no contact details show; your response reaches the family with your contact details.

Provider Home and open requests →
  • A family's questionnaire, without a login

A few questions about your skills, schedules, references and rate, answered on your phone.

    How it works

A family considering you sends a link that previews as A few questions from the family's first name. You answer what you can do, which schedules you could fill, whether you are open to a background check, three references (or that you will list them once they decide) and your proposed rate. Nothing about the patient is on it. Accepting sends you the family's invite with the agreed rate.

    Answering a family's questionnaire →
  • Each family adds you with its own code

Join each family with its code, using the same email and password every time.

    How it works

The family gives you a code for your role, or a link with it filled in. Join at the IDC Team sign-in with your name, title and credentials and a password; after that, your email and password sign you in from any device. When another family adds you, its code attaches that family to the login you already have, with the password you already use. A family ending your place on its team never ends your Marketplace profile.

On a shift

Clock in at the house, and everything for the shift is on one dashboard.

The family writes the plan and names the patient, so the app says Sam's Day, Sam's care, Sam's music. You tick, log and clock out; every step is saved under your name.

  • Your own dashboard: My shifts, My paperwork, Billing & pay

The clock at the top, a menu bar that stays put, and only the tab you tapped under it.

    How it works

The care-team dashboard opens with Your shift today and the Clock in / Clock out button, and the menu bar sits right under it on a phone and on a computer. The first row is about the patient: Today, the patient's care, the patient and Clinical. The second row is always yours: My shifts, My paperwork, Billing & pay and Settings. Favorites holds up to seven tabs you pick.

    The care-team dashboard →
  • A location-checked clock-in

Clock in and out at the patient's home, checked against your phone's location at the tap.

    How it works

When the family turns it on, both clock buttons ask your phone for its location at the tap and work at the patient's home, or at a pick-up place the family set for that day. You are never tracked in between, and breaks need no location. Away from the house, Ask the family to fix my time sends the family the time and how far away you were.

Clock in and out only at the patient's home →
  • Start and end of shift, with photo proof

Tick the family's start and end lists, with a photo where the family asks for one.

    How it works

The Checklist tab holds the family's Start of shift and End of shift lists, and a shift that gives medication pins that item first. With photo proof on, the flagged items need a photo from the camera before they count. If something required is missing at clock-out, the sheet lists what is left; Clock out anyway asks for a reason, the day goes to the family's review, and the hours are still owed.

Shift checklists and photo proof →
  • The day plan, step by step: Sam's Day

Each block of the patient's day with its steps and how-to video, ticked as you go.

    How it works

The Day tab is named after the patient and shows each block of the day the family wrote, with its how-to video and its steps. Tick each step as you do it and your name and the time are saved. Quick log on Health Tracking takes the readings, and personal care, such as a shower, dressing or a skin check, is logged with how the patient moved.

The app during a visit →
  • The dose pop-up on your shift

When a set of medications is due, the professional who is clocked in gets the pop-up.

    How it works

The family sets each medication's times from the label. When a set is due and you are clocked in, the pop-up comes to you and the family sees a small banner. Given now, Given earlier, or Not all of them to mark each one Given, Skipped or Refused; Remind me in 15 minutes puts it away for a moment. The app reminds; it does not decide when a medicine is taken.

Medication schedules and the dose-due reminder →
  • The patient's music, from the top of the Checklist

One tap plays the patient's songs one after another through the morning routine.

    How it works

At the top of the Checklist, Play Sam's music plays every song one after another, and with Repeat on the list starts again until someone taps Pause. Next skips a song, All the songs opens the full player, and a small player stays at the bottom of every tab. It is your own player, in your own login.

Games, sing-along and the patient's own music →
  • Your schedule, open shifts and offers by name

Your regular shifts, the open board, and a slot the family offers you, with Accept or Decline.

    How it works

My shifts shows Your schedule, and a change the family makes reaches you there with Got it. Can't make it offers a future shift to the rest of the team, and on Open shifts I'll take it picks one up: the first tap wins. When the family offers you an open regular slot by name, Accept or Decline answers it, and the family hears either answer.

The weekly schedule, offers and history →
  • Your house entry code

Watch the family's door video, sign the acknowledgment, then show your code for a moment.

    How it works

When the family assigns you a door code, Getting started shows the House entry code item. Watch the family's door video, read and sign the House Access Acknowledgment, and Show my entry code reveals it for a few seconds. The code is given when you are hired and revoked when the relationship ends.

Your paperwork

Your agreement, credentials, skills and W-9 under My paperwork.

Getting started shows one next step at a time, and My record shows you the same record the family sees, each item with its status.

  • Getting started: one next step at a time

One checklist with one next step, from learning the app to I'm ready to work.

    How it works

Getting started is the first tab until it is done: one progress line and one next-step card. As an independent professional you see every item: learn the app, the screening consents, tax documents, how you get paid, credentials, learning about the patient, the skills checklist, the house entry code and the pay-release acknowledgment. Then I'm ready to work, and the dashboard lands on My shifts.

    The Getting started checklist →
  • The family's agreement, signed in the app

Read the agreement the family sent, tick, type your name and sign; the family countersigns.

    How it works

My agreement shows only the agreements sent to you, with the full text exactly as it was sent. Tick I have read this, type your full name and tap Sign; once the family countersigns, both signatures show and you can print it. If something is wrong, decline and leave a note. Working under your own contract? Upload the PDF, list its rules and sign it, and it goes to the family to countersign.

    Home Team agreements →
  • Credentials, and 30 days for one you do not have yet

Upload CPR or a license, or tap I don't have one yet for 30 days and where to get it.

    How it works

Documents shows the credentials this family requires: CPR, a license only if they ask for it, sometimes a TB test or a training. Upload a copy, or tap I don't have one yet and the card reads Getting it, with a due date and where to get one. A card within 30 days of expiring shows amber, an expired one red. Clock-out and pay are never blocked by paperwork.

Credentials: CPR, license and training →
  • Skills checklists the family validates

Rate each skill on the checklist the family assigned and sign; the family or their nurse validates.

    How it works

The family assigns a skills checklist (RN, CNA, companion or older adult). Rate every item I do this, I need training or Not part of my role, saved as you go, then sign the self-review. The family or their nurse rates it beside your ratings and signs, and the validated sheet is read-only and printable.

Agreements, credentials and skills checklists →
  • The W-9, and what you were paid this year

Fill and sign the W-9 in the app, and see Paid to you this year on Documents.

    How it works

Fill out and sign the W-9 in the app; the family sees that it is on file with only the last four digits. W-4 and I-9 open the official blank forms to fill and upload. Documents also shows Paid to you this year, and an independent professional paid over the IRS reporting threshold is flagged for the family's 1099-NEC.

    Tax documents: the W-9, W-4 and I-9 →
  • My profile, My record and About me

Your details and password, the same record the family sees, and a profile you choose to show.

    How it works

My profile holds your legal name, date of birth, home address, email and password. My record shows the same record the family sees: the agreement, documents, entry code, how you get paid and Getting started, each with a status. About me is your written profile, with a switch for the public Marketplace. Your phone and email are never shown publicly.

My profile, My record and About me →

Getting paid

The clock becomes your timesheet, and the timesheet becomes your invoice.

Billing & pay holds this pay period's hours, Make my invoice, My invoices and How you get paid. The family approves, pays you your way and records it in the same app.

  • Timesheets from the clock

Your clocked hours, with their breaks, add up into the pay period's timesheet.

    How it works

Every clocked shift, with its lunch and rest breaks, adds up into the pay period's timesheet. A day with a required checklist item or log missing is held for the family's review, never unpaid: the family approves it with a note or asks you to finish it, and hours worked are always owed. You acknowledge these rules during Getting started.

Clock in, the time log and pay release →
  • Make my invoice: every day, Monday to Sunday

One tap makes the pay period's invoice, with every day listed and 0.00 on a day off.

    How it works

Make my invoice under Billing & pay builds the invoice from your hours at the rate the family set. It lists every day of the pay period, Monday through Sunday, with 0.00 hours on a day you did not work, and a Sunday-night shift is split at midnight between this week and next. If a shift in the period is still open, the invoice says so: clock out, or ask the family to fix the time, first.

    How you get paid →
  • Zelle, Cash App, direct deposit or a check

Pick your pay method once, and it goes on every invoice you send.

    How it works

How you get paid lists the methods, Zelle, Cash App, direct deposit and a check among them. Bank details for direct deposit are stored encrypted and shown afterwards only as the last four digits. The family approves your invoice, Pay now shows your method with the amount, and Mark paid records how and with what reference, so your invoice shows paid.

    Pay methods and invoices →
  • When a family ends the working relationship

A notice with your last day, your final invoice through the app, and your other families untouched.

    How it works

If a family ends the relationship, your dashboard shows Your last day is, with the notice behind Read the notice: the last day, that later shifts are released, that the final invoice goes through the app, what to bring back, and the notice terms of the agreement you signed. On the last day that family's access ends and the door code is revoked. Any other family you work with is unaffected.

When you grow into an agency

Bring people on, and your office gets its own login in each home.

  • Your office, in each family's home

Your office's own login in each home, with Team, Open shifts and Invoices, and never the clinical record.

    How it works

When you bring people on, the family gives your office its own login for that home with the Home care agency (office / scheduler) code. The office has two doors, Office and My paperwork: Team, Open shifts, Invoices and the team feed, and never the clinical record. Add a staff member sends an aide or a nurse a join link, and their login is linked to your agency in that home.

    For a home care agency's office →
  • One invoice from your agency

One draft per pay period from your people's shifts in that home; they do not invoice separately.

    How it works

Invoices makes one draft per pay period from every linked professional's closed shifts in that home, at the rate the family set, and the family approves and marks it paid. Someone staffed through your agency keeps the clock and the documents but does not invoice: the line says Your agency bills.

How a professional gets paid →
  • Your agency as an organization

An organization set up with our team, starting in preview, with the clients you enroll on one panel.

    How it works

ExpressAgain can set your agency up as an organization with our team, starting in preview. Enroll a client by the family's email or mobile number, and the organization panel shows every client you enrolled. Today each family gives your office its own login for that home, so Team and Invoices are kept home by home.

One team, one plan

Built for the interdisciplinary care team

An interdisciplinary care team is a group of different health professionals who work together closely with the patient and family to create a single, shared treatment plan. ExpressAgain is the platform where all of those parties care for one patient together: the same day, the same medications, the same notes, and the same record of who did what and when.
