A regular shift on the Weekly schedule is kept as versions. Change from a date (it replaced Edit) asks when the change starts, next Monday unless you pick another day, and an optional reason. Saving ends the current version the day before and starts the new one that day, with the new days, times, person, status, medication flag and label. Weeks before the change keep the schedule they had: last week's scheduled hours on This week, each professional's numbers and every other screen read the version in effect on each day. A start before today asks Change past weeks too? and the history marks it back-dated. A slot added today, or one that has not started yet, can be fixed in place with Fix a typo instead, and that is recorded too.
End this shift (it replaced Remove) asks for the last day, today or the end of this week by default, and an optional reason; nothing is deleted. A slot added by mistake that has no day in effect yet shows Discard (added by mistake); it disappears from the lists and the history keeps a line that it was discarded. The slot list shows upcoming versions with Starts and the date, and ended ones collapsed under Ended with a history link. Week at a glance has Week before and Week after and shows the versions in effect in the week you are viewing.
A day someone gave up stays with the version in effect that day. When a change means it no longer matches, for example the times moved, the record is kept, the person stays off that day, the open shift for the old times is cancelled with a note (one someone already picked up is never cancelled), and Needs a look at the top of the Weekly schedule says Jamie's day off on Oct 14 no longer matches the new schedule, with Got it.
On an open slot, Offer to … sends it to one professional on the team. They see Sample's family offered you the days and times from the start date, with Accept and Decline, on My shifts and on Open shifts, and a phone notification when they turned those on. Accept puts them on the slot from its start, or from today when it already started; Decline asks why, optionally. Either answer reaches the family in the app and as a phone notification for anyone who turned those on. Take back the offer withdraws it. Slots offered to no one stay on the open board with I'm interested, and the family assigns them as before.
When a shift a professional holds changes or ends, that professional sees it on My shifts, such as Your schedule changes from Mon, Oct 12 or Your Mon–Fri 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM shift ends after Sun, Oct 11, with Got it, and a phone notification when they turned those on. Nothing about the schedule is emailed or texted from these steps.
Schedule history, at the bottom of the Weekly schedule, lists every version of every regular shift on one line, such as Mon–Fri 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM · Jamie · Sep 1 – Oct 11 · ended by the account owner on Oct 5 · new schedule, then Every change: added, changed, ended, discarded, assigned, taken off, offered, accepted, declined and interested, each with who, when and why. Filter it to one person (each provider's card has a Schedule history button), Download CSV or Print. A professional's profile shows the same lines under Regular schedule. History rows cannot be edited or deleted.
