Dates are picked from a calendar, and what Was typed as means

Every date in the app opens the phone's own date picker instead of a box to type in, with Clear for an optional date; a date typed in words before is kept and shown under the picker as Was typed as until a new date is picked.

Nobody types a date into ExpressAgain any more. Tap a date field and the phone's own picker opens: the calendar wheel on an iPhone, the calendar on Android, the browser's date box with its calendar on a computer. Where a time belongs with the date, a time picker sits beside it (side by side from a tablet up, one under the other on a phone so the time is never cut off). The picked date then shows the usual way, such as Oct 12, 2026.

Clear. When a date is optional and holds something, Clear sits at the end of the field's label line; it empties the date. A required date has no Clear. Some fields keep to sensible days: a date already past (Date filled, Date written, Date started / given, Date identified on an allergy, a date of birth) can't be in the future, and Discard by can't be before Date filled.

Was typed as. A date typed before, in words the picker can't read (like next Tuesday or early Sept), is never thrown away. It stays saved and shows under the picker as Was typed as with the old words, for example Was typed as "after the 15th". Pick the right date to replace it; until then the old words are kept exactly as they were. Dates typed before in a form the picker can read, such as 9/28/2026, simply show in the picker and still count in the refill and expiry reminders.

Where you will find the pickers. Prescriptions: a medication's As printed on the bottle section (Date written, Date filled, Expires, Next refill due), Date started / given, and an allergy's Date identified; when a bottle is read from its photo, Date filled and Discard by are pickers that the reader fills in for you to check. Bills and Payments: When it's due is a choice of a day of each month (1st of each month to Last day of each month) or On one date, which opens the picker. Travel and Logistics on Visit Planning: Arrives, with an optional time. The Visit Flow Sheet: Last BM and Physician appt., each a day and, when known, a time. The Emergency Plan Card's date of birth. Appointments: the next appointment written after a visit. The Home Care Team Plan: the plan start date, the version date and the review date. A state's form on Important papers: the date of birth. Home Team agreements: the start date. On the organization side, the dates in a patient record. On a job application, a CPR card's expiry asks for a month and a year only.
