Clock in and out only at the patient's home

The family sets the house (and any pick-up place for one day); the Home Team can clock in and out only there, checked against the phone's location at each tap.

On Home Team management, Home Team & Rates opens with the Clock-in location card. Set the house in one of two ways: at the house, tap I'm at the house now — use this spot, which uses your phone's location and says how precise it was; or type the street, city, state and ZIP and tap Find this address. The address is looked up with the free US Census address finder and shown back so you can say Yes, use it or try again; if it finds nothing, the card says so and offers the spot instead. When the patient's address is already saved on the Emergency Plan Card or the billing card, the address field starts with it.

How close counts: 100 m (the house and yard), 150 m (the house and street, about 500 feet, the default), 250 m (a few houses each way) or 400 m (the whole block). The switch Clock in and out only at the location turns on when the house is saved. Turn it off and the clock works from anywhere, as before; a location the professional chooses to share is then only recorded.

Away clock-in places are for a day the care happens somewhere else, such as picking the patient up at a clinic. Open Away clock-in places, tap Add an away place, pick the appointment or trip from the patient's Schedule (or type a name, a day and the times), and set the spot by address or by being there. On that day the Home Team can clock in and out there, as well as at the house, from 2 hours before the start to 2 hours after the end; with no times, the whole day. An end before the start runs past midnight.

For the professional, both clock buttons (the one under Your shift today and the big one on My shifts) ask the phone for its location at the tap. The clock is allowed within the radius plus the phone's own accuracy, up to 100 m more. A location more than 2 minutes old, or less precise than 1,000 m, is refused, and so is a tap with no location. Away from the house the clock says, for example, You're about 2.3 miles from Sample's home. Clock in when you get there, or To clock out, you need to be at Sample's home (you're about 4 miles away). If the phone blocked location, a step-by-step guide shows how to allow it for expressagain.com in Safari on an iPhone, in the app on the Home Screen, and in Chrome on Android. Breaks never need a location.

There is no way around it for the professional while the switch is on: adding a forgotten shift, closing an open shift by hand and changing clock times are the family's. The professional's fallback is Ask the family to fix my time. The family sees it at the top of Home Team management and on This week with the person's name, the shift, the time of the tap and how far away they were, and chooses Fix the time (the clock-out starts at the time of the request and can be changed; it saves as fixed by the family, with who and when) or Send them back (the shift stays open; the professional is told in the app, and by a phone notification when they turned those on, The family asked you to go back to Sample's home to clock out; and a banner above the clock says Go back to Sample's home to clock out. Your shift is still open.). After Send them back, the only way to close that shift is a real clock-out at the house or an away place open then, and no second request can be sent for it. Each shift's line keeps that history. The agency office never clocks anyone in or out; it can still adjust its own staff's times, stamped with the agency's name.

This week shows where each clock happened, such as In: at the house · 20 m · Out: at the house · 15 m, or at the clinic (away place). Be clear about what this is: the location is checked at the tap only, never tracked in between, and someone who sets a phone to fake its location can fool it. The stored positions are there for the family to review. It is a location-checked clock-in, not a certified electronic visit verification system.
