For people living with Parkinson's and their families

A Parkinson's communication app for a voice that has gotten too quiet

A Parkinson's communication app has to solve two problems at once: a soft voice nobody can hear, and hands that shake on small buttons. ExpressAgain speaks each phrase at full volume and lays the screen out with large buttons, with the ALS and Parkinson's mode's own phrases for medicine timing and moving.

What is already built

The ALS & Parkinson's library

Phrases for medicine timing in plain words (it's time for my medicine, my medicine is wearing off, I'm on now, I'm off now), moving (I'm freezing and can't move my feet, I'm going to fall, my hands are shaking), a voice that is too quiet, eating and swallowing, and the person's own decisions.

Bigger text, bigger buttons, less motion

Set in the guided setup and in Settings; the whole app reflows to match, and a simple-language preference keeps wording short.

Medication schedules and the dose-due reminder

Set times, or every so many hours from the first dose, per medication. When a set is due a pop-up asks, and a phone notification goes to whoever runs the account and the care team, naming only which set is due.

Get Help Now

One tap speaks at once and counts down five seconds; then the account owner, the managing accounts and the professional on shift get a phone notification, a text and a call, climbing a ladder until someone answers.

How it works

  1. Create a free account: your name, email, a password and who the app is for (yourself, someone you care for, a patient, or an organization).

  2. The guided setup takes four short steps: who the app is for and the condition mode, text and button sizes, a voice and the first people, then a review.

  3. Tap any phrase on Communicate to say it out loud; invite family with a personal link and give each clinician or professional a code from the Care Team page.

Questions people ask

Is it free to start?

Yes. Free is where everyone starts, and communicating is never behind a paywall: tap to speak, the phrase boards, the sentence builder, Letters, the Phrase Library, lessons, Games and Play, the emergency screen, the Emergency Plan Card and the built-in voice. Free also invites 2 family members to the Family and Friends Feed. The Pricing page shows the plans side by side.

What happens after I sign up?

Sign up asks for your name, email and a password, and who the app is for. Then the guided setup takes four short steps: who the app is for and the condition mode, text and button sizes, a voice and the first people, then a review. Entering the patient's name and date of birth pins the two phrases hospitals ask for constantly.

How do I turn on the Parkinson's phrases?

Choose the ALS and Parkinson's mode in the guided setup; its phrases open first in the Phrase Library and at the top of the Communicate page, and every phrase in the library stays open.

What if a tremor makes typing hard?

Tap phrases instead of typing, turn on bigger buttons and less motion in Settings, use the 3-at-a-time switch for fewer choices, and let the Letters board spell one letter at a time.
