For people with ALS, or who cannot speak, and their families

An AAC app for ALS, in plain words: tap it, type it, spell it, and it speaks

An AAC app for ALS is a way to speak without the voice: tap a phrase, type a sentence or spell a word, and the device says it. ExpressAgain does all three in a browser, with the ALS and Parkinson's mode's phrases opening first and a cloned voice doing the talking.

What is already built

Type, and spell with Letters

Type speaks anything typed; Letters is an on-screen alphabet board that speaks a word spelled letter by letter and shares it as a note.

How it works

  1. Create a free account: your name, email, a password and who the app is for (yourself, someone you care for, a patient, or an organization).

  2. The guided setup takes four short steps: who the app is for and the condition mode, text and button sizes, a voice and the first people, then a review.

  3. Tap any phrase on Communicate to say it out loud; invite family with a personal link and give each clinician or professional a code from the Care Team page.

Questions people ask

Is it free to start?

Yes. Free is where everyone starts, and communicating is never behind a paywall: tap to speak, the phrase boards, the sentence builder, Letters, the Phrase Library, lessons, Games and Play, the emergency screen, the Emergency Plan Card and the built-in voice. Free also invites 2 family members to the Family and Friends Feed. The Pricing page shows the plans side by side.

What happens after I sign up?

Sign up asks for your name, email and a password, and who the app is for. Then the guided setup takes four short steps: who the app is for and the condition mode, text and button sizes, a voice and the first people, then a review. Entering the patient's name and date of birth pins the two phrases hospitals ask for constantly.

Does it need training to set up?

The guided setup is four short steps: who the app is for and the condition mode, text and button sizes, a voice and the first people, then a review.

Can the speech therapist set it up with us?

Yes. The SLP joins with the family's code at the IDC Team sign-in and adds phrases to the patient's own words, which speak with one tap beside the shared library.

Keep the voice. Start while speaking is still easy.
