Home care jobs near me: how the ExpressAgain Marketplace works for professionals
Families are looking for professionals who can care for someone who cannot easily speak. Here is how to be found by them, what they will ask, and what working with a family on ExpressAgain looks like.
The ExpressAgain Team5 min read

If you are a home health aide, a CNA, an LPN, an RN, a companion or a homemaker, you already know that finding good private work is mostly about being findable by the right families, near where you live. The ExpressAgain Marketplace is built for that, and for a particular kind of family: one caring for someone who cannot reliably speak, after a stroke, with aphasia, ALS, Parkinson's, dementia, a brain tumor or at the end of life.
This guide explains how it works from your side, from posting a profile to getting paid.
Create your profile
The provider side of the Marketplace creates a live profile and a real login in one step. You add your name, email and a password, a phone, the ZIP code you work in, your role or specialty, an optional hourly rate, and the services you offer: companion care, personal care, dementia care, medication support, post-stroke support, skilled nursing, around-the-clock care, end-of-life care, respite care, meal preparation, homemaking and transportation among them.
Your privacy is protected. Your public profile shows a first name and an initial, your ZIP area instead of an address, what you chose to share about yourself and only the trust lines that are true for you. It never shows your phone or email. Join the Marketplace as a professional has the details.
Find open care requests near you
Families post care requests, and they appear on the Open Care Requests board with the family's name masked and no contact details: the kind of care, the ZIP code, the schedule and the details. Respond with your registered provider email and a message, and your message and contact details go straight to the family's inbox. If your profile matches a request's care type and area, you get an email the moment it is posted, so keep your profile current.
Families can also search the Marketplace by care type and ZIP code and send a request straight to you. Provider Home, where your login lives until a family attaches you, shows your profile and whether you are available, requests sent to you, open requests near you and the jobs you responded to.
What families will ask
A family considering you may text you a link to a short questionnaire. It asks what you can do, which schedules you could fill, your phone, whether you are open to a background check, three references (or whether you would list them once they decide) and your proposed rate. It shows the care tasks and schedules the family needs and nothing about the patient. The family can accept, propose a different rate or decline, and you can accept a counter or propose again. Answering a family's questionnaire walks through it.
Getting started with a family
When a family accepts, they send you an invite with the agreed rate, and your care-team dashboard opens with the same login. The Getting started checklist shows one next step at a time: learn the app, screening consents, tax documents, how you get paid, credentials, learning about the patient, tasks you have been trained on, the skills checklist, the house entry code and the pay-release acknowledgment. Then I'm ready to work appears, and your dashboard lands on My shifts.
Credentials are fair: upload what you have, and for something you do not have yet, tap I don't have one yet and you get 30 days and a list of where to get it. Clock-out and pay are never blocked by paperwork.
On shift, and getting paid
On a shift you clock in, tick the start-of-shift list, follow the family's day step by step with how-to videos, log doses, readings and personal care, tick the end-of-shift list and clock out. Everything you log carries your name. You choose how you are paid once, from Zelle, Cash App, direct deposit, a check, a bank transfer or a wire; your hours build the timesheet and Make my invoice sends it. The family approves and marks it paid. How you get paid covers the details, and hours worked are always owed.
Why these families
Caring for someone who cannot easily speak takes patience and attention, and the families on ExpressAgain know it. The person you care for can tap a phrase and have it spoken, so you can ask and they can answer. The plan is written down, the medicines are listed, and the family's expectations are on a checklist, not in their heads. If you have experience with stroke, dementia or end-of-life care, say so in your profile; it is exactly what these families search for.
A quick note
The Marketplace shows real professionals and real requests, never invented ones. Families decide whom to hire and on what terms. Screening consents are part of Getting started, and each family decides what it requires.
