Partly built: part of this depends on a connection or a switch that may not be on for your account yet. The article says which part.
Doctor's Records can bring in records from four more places, read-only, through each one's own published patient-access API. Each Connect card appears only once that source is switched on for the deployment; until then the page shows only the Epic and eClinicalWorks cards. Only the account owner and caregiver-role accounts connect, refresh or disconnect; the family and the care team read; friends never see the records.
Oracle Health (formerly Cerner): tap Connect Oracle Health and type the hospital's name or its city; the list is Oracle's own public list of patient-access endpoints, with the city and state shown because some names repeat. The patient, or a proxy where the hospital's portal allows it, signs in on the hospital's patient portal and approves ExpressAgain.
athenahealth: tap Connect athenahealth, type the office's name (it only labels the card), then choose the practice and sign in with the patient-portal account on athenahealth's own screen.
Medicare: tap Connect Medicare and sign in with the Medicare.gov account. Medicare's claims show under On file, in a Medicare claims tab that appears only with a Medicare connection: prescriptions filled (the drug, the pharmacy, the prescriber, days supply), doctor and outpatient visits, hospital and facility stays, and medical equipment, each with who provided it. They are shown as Medicare has them on file: no amounts, no totals, no interpretation.
VA: tap Connect VA health records. The Veteran ticks the consent box (the family and care team in this circle may see the VA records), then signs in personally on VA.gov with a Login.gov or ID.me account; VA does not let a family member approve this for the Veteran, so do it together, and never share that password. VA records fill the same tabs as the other charts, and the page carries VA's line: Service is for educational and informational purposes, not clinical decisions.
Disconnect on the connected place drops the copy of the records and the sealed access; where the source offers it, ExpressAgain also tells it to revoke the access. The source's own site can remove ExpressAgain too: Medicare.gov's connected apps, VA.gov under Profile, Connected apps, or the hospital's or practice's patient portal.
Step by step
- 1Open ID Care Plan, then Doctor's Records.
- 2Tap the card for the source: Connect Oracle Health, Connect athenahealth, Connect Medicare or Connect VA health records (each appears only once it is switched on).
- 3Oracle Health: type the hospital's name or city and pick it. athenahealth: type the office's name and tap Sign in on athenahealth. Medicare: tap Sign in on Medicare.gov. VA: the Veteran ticks the consent box, then taps Sign in on VA.gov.
- 4Sign in on that source's own screen and approve ExpressAgain. Back on Doctor's Records, tap Refresh on the new card to pull the records.
- 5Medicare: open On file, then Medicare claims, and filter by Prescriptions filled, Visits & stays, or Equipment & other.
- 6To stop sharing, tap Disconnect on the connected place.
