Who orders. The agency does, through its own Checkr account and its own API key. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act the organization that uses a consumer report is the one that orders it and owns it, so ExpressAgain never orders a check in its own name for an agency and never holds a report. ExpressAgain's own Checkr connection, for the Marketplace partner program, is separate and reads Not connected until it is set; it is never used for an agency's orders.
Connect Checkr. On Settings, the Connect Checkr card (an agency; the organization admin edits). In Checkr, open Account settings, then Developer settings, and copy a secret API key. Paste it under Your Checkr API key and tap Save and test the connection: ExpressAgain seals the key (the same way the agency's EIN is sealed) and asks Checkr for the account; the card then reads Connected with the account's name, the key's last four characters and the day it was tested. Test connection asks again any time; Replace the key and Disconnect do what they say. The card also shows a Webhook URL for Checkr: copy it and paste it under Webhooks in Checkr's Developer settings so every status change reaches ExpressAgain. Checkr signs each delivery with the agency's own key; a delivery that does not verify changes nothing.
Order a background check. Open Team, then the professional's team file. Under Documents, the Background check card shows the order so far, or Not ordered through Checkr. Tap Order a background check, choose a package from the list read live from your Checkr account (the names and screenings are Checkr's), choose the state the professional works in, and tap Send the invitation through Checkr. Checkr emails the professional its invitation. The professional reads Checkr's disclosures and gives consent on Checkr's page; nothing about consent is sent from ExpressAgain. The professional needs an email address on the team list.
What the row shows. The status as Checkr states it: Invited (the email went), In progress (the professional finished Checkr's form and the report is running), then Clear, Consider (something to look at in Checkr) or Needs review (Checkr needs something from the professional, or a result is waiting on a review in Checkr). An invitation that ran out reads Invitation expired (Checkr's are good for seven days); a canceled one, Canceled. Under the status: the source and the date (Checkr, the day, the package) and who ordered it. Check for an update re-reads the report from Checkr while an order is open. The invitation link and Open Checkr lead to Checkr; the report id is shown so you can find the report there.
What ExpressAgain keeps. The status, the package, Checkr's candidate, invitation and report ids, and the dates. Never the report, a screening's lines or a document. Adverse action, from the pre-adverse notice to the final notice, happens in Checkr and is never started or recorded in ExpressAgain. An earlier order stays listed under Earlier orders.
The family's side. In each client home where the professional works through the agency, the professional's credential row and Ready to work read the same status through the agency link: Clear reads Verified with Checkr, the day and the agency named; Consider and Needs review read Submitted, Result to review in Checkr; Invited and In progress read Submitted, In progress with Checkr. A check the family requires on its Requirements page is still the agency's responsibility for an agency-placed professional, and never holds a shift; the family simply sees where it stands.
A check done elsewhere. If a check was run outside Checkr, file its copy under Documents as a Background check as before. Nothing in ExpressAgain says a check was run unless the agency filed it or ordered it; ExpressAgain itself never runs a check and never says one is clear.
