Games and the gift exchange at a gathering

On a gathering's Games & gifts tab the host shuffles everyone who is coming into teams, opens a Secret Santa where each person sees only the one name they drew, and keeps the list of giveaways with a Draw a winner button for raffles.

Where it is. Open a gathering under Family gatherings and tap Games & gifts. The tab has three sections, each with its own address so a link opens exactly that one: Teams, Gift exchange and Giveaways. Everyone in the circle (whoever runs the account, the caregiver role, family, extended family and friends) can read all three. The host, which is whoever runs the account or anyone with the caregiver role, is the one who makes changes.

Teams. The people come from the answers to the gathering: everyone who said they are coming, plus the companions each one typed. The host chooses how many teams and taps Shuffle into teams for an even split; a person who answered with children keeps their people on one team. There is no dragging: a Move to… menu beside each name moves them to another team or off the teams, each team's name can be typed over, Add a name puts in someone who is not on an answer, and Not on a team yet lists anyone still unplaced. Print the list and Copy the list give a clean list to pin on the fridge or paste into the family chat. Every change saves at once.

Gift exchange. The host taps Open the gift exchange and writes the budget in plain words (around twenty-five dollars), when the gifts are exchanged and a note for everyone. Anyone signed in with their own account then taps Join the gift exchange (a person who joined the circle with a code reads along and is asked to sign in with their own account to join, the same rule as booking); the host can add someone who texted by name, and if that person later signs in and joins, their tap takes over that entry instead of making a second one. Before the draw each person may choose one person under Don't pair me with (for a couple, or a parent and child) and write up to three gift ideas under Your wish list; the host sets Don't pair me with for the people added by name.

The draw. With two people or more, the host taps Draw names. Everyone gives to exactly one person and is drawn by exactly one person, nobody draws themselves, and every Don't pair me with is kept both ways. When the choices make that impossible the app says who is boxed in and nothing is drawn; add a person or clear one choice and draw again. After the draw each person sees Your person with that one name and their wish list, and can tap I've got my gift. A wish list written after the draw shows up for the person who drew them the next time they look.

What the host sees. The host sees who is in and who has a wish list, never the pairings. Reveal all, behind a confirmation, shows every pairing to the host once, and each reveal is recorded with the host's name and the day; the page says when it was last revealed and by whom. Undo the draw clears every pairing and keeps the people in, so someone can be added and the names drawn again.

Giveaways. The host lists each item and how it is won: Raffle (a name is drawn from everyone who is coming), Game winner or For everyone. On a raffle, Draw a winner picks one random name from everyone coming, companions included, writes it next to the item and records the draw; Draw again replaces it. The whole circle sees the list and the winners.

Who sees what. The teams, the giveaways, the exchange's budget, day and note, and the names of everyone in the exchange are the circle's to read. The pairing is read back only as each person's own name, and only the host can reveal them all, confirmed and recorded every time. Only the host changes the teams, opens or draws the exchange, adds someone by name or keeps the giveaways; a person changes only their own wish list, their own Don't pair me with and their own I've got my gift.
