The Symptoms & events log is on Health Tracking, and the same log is on the care-team dashboard's Health Tracking tab, with a Quick log on top. Pick everything you saw (more than one is fine), add what happened, set the time and tap Log it. Every entry is stamped with the time and who logged it, and the app never scores or interprets it: the family and the care team read the pattern.
Leg pain is a quick chip right after Pain. When you tap it, Right, Left and Both appear under the row and one of them must be tapped before Log it; the entry then reads Leg pain · right leg, left leg or both legs. Pain has an optional Where?: head, chest, stomach, back, right or left arm, right or left leg, right or left hand, or other (other opens the note so you can say where). The place is kept as its own field on the entry, not only as words in the note, so the history, the feed, the care alert, Health reports and Since your last visit all print it the same way. Entries logged before October 5, 2026 read exactly as they did.
Photos and videos: tap Add photo or video under the chips. On a phone you can take a photo or a video with the camera or choose one from the library. Up to three go on one entry. A photo is made smaller on the phone before it is sent; a video can be up to 60 seconds and 50 MB, and a longer or bigger one is refused with a message that says so. The thumbnails show before Log it, and the × on one takes it off. If more than one symptom is picked, the photos go with each entry logged together.
On a logged entry the thumbnails sit under it. Tap one to open it full screen; a video plays there with its controls. Close, the Escape key or a tap outside the picture closes it. The person who logged the entry, the owner account and the caregiver role can add another photo or video (up to three) or remove one; each addition and removal records who did it and when. Removing an entry removes its photos and videos too.
Who can see them: exactly the people who can read the symptom log today. That is the owner account, the caregiver role, the family role and the care team's logins on the patient (a login the family removed sees nothing). The extended circle (friends), the agency office and anyone signed out never see them, and they never appear in the Family and Friends feed, the Love Bucket or the team feed. Every photo and video is stored privately and opened through the app, which checks who is asking each time; there is no public link.
Nothing about them is sent: care alerts, emails, texts and notifications carry the same words they did before and never a photo or video. Health reports (Symptoms & alerts, on screen, printed and in the CSV) show a marker such as photo attached, never the picture; the daily note's family version says the same, and the friends version never mentions a symptom. Since your last visit shows the entry with a camera mark, for example Leg pain · right leg · 📷.
The help button: More symptoms has a Help button group with Pressed the help button and Needed help — didn't press the button. Once a help button is on file under Insurance & Devices, or one of them has been logged, both join the quick chips on the main row (and on the care-team Quick log). Needed help — didn't press the button asks Was it on? before Log it; the other questions are optional. The answers are kept as their own fields and read like any entry, for example Needed help — didn't press the button · wearing it · cried. These two never go to the care team as an alert. See The help button: when it's used and when it isn't.
