Availability: the hours a professional can work

The family, the agency or the professional sets the hours a professional can work, day by day in 15-minute steps, overnight windows, Any time (live-in) and dates away; the schedule warns only about hours someone set.

Who sets it. A professional sets their own hours on My shifts, in the My availability card; they apply in every home where they work. The family owner sets the hours a professional works in this home, on that person's profile in My Home Team (the Availability card under Regular schedule); they count in this home only. An agency's administrators and office set the hours of one of their people on Team, on that person's page; they count in every client home where the person works through the agency. When more than one is set, the home's hours win in that home, then the agency's, then the person's own. Each card shows what is set, who set it and when, the other hours set for the person, and a Counts here line when someone else's hours are the ones that count.

Setting hours. Tap Set hours (or Change hours). For each day, Add hours gives a From and a To in 15-minute steps, up to four windows a day; a To earlier than the From runs past midnight, so 2 PM to 4 AM is one overnight window, marked (next day). A day with no hours is a day off. Same hours as Monday for Tue – Fri copies Monday's hours. Any time (live-in) means every hour of every day. Dates away takes a first day, a last day and an optional note (Not available Oct 20 – 24 · vacation), up to 30. The line above Save hours reads it back, for example Available 4 AM – 2 PM Mon–Fri; 6 AM – 6 PM Sat, Sun · not available Oct 20 – 24. Clear these hours removes them, and the next hours down count again.

What reads it. When a shift is moved, copied or reassigned on the calendar, a time outside the person's hours warns: Sat, Oct 17, 2:00–8:00 PM is outside the times Jewel is available (4 AM – 2 PM Mon–Fri; 6 AM – 6 PM Sat, Sun), and a shift on dates away says so. It is a warning, and Save anyway saves it. A person nobody set hours for is never warned about. The Move sheet shows the picked person's hours under Person, or No availability set. On an agency office's Calendar, By worker shades each person's hours outside their availability in a light gray.

The Marketplace profile's Availability tab (the public weekly grid a professional fills in on Provider Home) is a separate public summary; the schedule does not read it. Availability is a staffing fact: an agency's office sees and sets it without seeing any health detail.
