Every professional on the Marketplace can set what they need to make for each distance from their home ZIP: under 30 miles, 30 to 60 miles and 60 to 100 miles, per hour and, for clinicians, per visit, plus how far they travel at most. Their ZIP is never shown; everyone else sees its 3-digit area.
When you post a care request on the Marketplace, search Find home care providers with a full ZIP, or open Matched professionals on Find a team member, you say what you will pay (up to an hourly amount, an optional range, or per visit), the tasks (companionship, personal care, transfers, medication assistance or reminders, medication administration, insulin injections, and under More nursing and therapy tasks: finger-stick blood sugar, vital signs, wound care, catheter care, tube feeding, a nursing assessment, therapy), a credential if you need one, and the schedule. When you tick a medication or nursing task you can also say how care is arranged (you hire directly, a non-medical agency, a licensed home health agency, or a Medicaid waiver program) and whether a registered nurse delegates and supervises the task, because the rules differ by both. The miles are straight-line miles between the two ZIP codes, from a U.S. Census table that ships with the app; nothing is looked up elsewhere.
A professional shows only when every one of these is true: you are within the miles they travel; their rate for your distance is at or under what you offer; they do every task you ticked; each task is allowed in your state for a credential they have on file, current and valid in that state (an RN or LPN multistate license counts in the other Nurse Licensure Compact states); a task the state allows only with delegation by a nurse matches only when you say the delegation is in place; any credential you asked for is on file and current; and the schedules overlap when both of you gave one. The state rules cover South Carolina, North Carolina, Michigan, Illinois, California, Georgia, Maryland and Texas, one rule for each task and credential with its conditions, source and date; they are information for matching, not legal advice. For example, in South Carolina an aide may help with medication reminders but may not give medication; in Texas an aide may give insulin only when a registered nurse delegates it; in Illinois that delegation applies only through a home health, home nursing or hospice agency. Medication and nursing tasks never match where a rule is not confirmed, or in a state not covered yet, and the card says so. An expired license, a license from another state, or a credential without a copy on file never counts.
The best fit comes first: pay, then distance, care type, schedule and credentials on file. Every reason is printed on the card, for example Within 30 miles, the rate the professional asks for that distance, what you offer, the credential with its state and expiry date, and the state line for the task. On public pages the distance is shown as a band (within 30, 60 or 100 miles); signed in on Find a team member, or as an agency office on the Provider Home, you see the exact miles. ExpressAgain does not check credentials with a state board: a card reads credential on file, with its expiry date.
Tell me when a new match appears saves the search for you. New matches are counted next to the saved search the next time you open the page; nothing is emailed, texted or pushed from a saved search. The rules for who may do which task in which state, with the source of each, live in the app; states beyond the eight above are not covered yet.
Step by step

- 3Tick the tasks, including Medication assistance or reminders or Medication administration if they are needed, and choose a credential and the schedule if they matter.
- 4Post the request, or tap Show matched professionals; read the reasons on each card and open a profile to send a request.
- 5Tap Tell me when a new match appears to keep the search; the count of new matches shows here next time.
