Rewards & Recognition

The family, an agency, or both can run a rewards program for the Home Care Team: professionals earn points for photos, care logs, finished checklists, being on time and Getting started steps, see a leaderboard, and redeem points for prizes the family or agency gives.

Rewards & Recognition is a program the family runs for its home, an agency runs for its professionals across all its clients, or both run at once. Each program has its own points, balances, leaderboard and prizes. A professional placed by an agency in a family's home can earn in both; a professional who works in two homes, or for two agencies, earns separately in each. One action pays once in each program, never twice in the same one. A program is off until its owner turns it on.

Who earns: the Home Care Team, the professionals who help in the home, nurses hired onto the Home Care Team included, still on the team. Clinicians on the care team do not earn, and neither does the agency office.

What earns, by default: photo proof on a checklist item, +5 (up to 10 a shift); a meal logged with its photo (Snap the meal), +5 (up to 6 a shift); each care log entry (vitals, glucose, blood pressure, a medication given, nap and wake, bathroom, meals and drinks, mood), +2 (up to 40 a shift); a start-of-shift or end-of-shift checklist finished with every required item ticked, +10 each; an on-time clock-in (no later than 5 minutes after the scheduled start), +10; a scheduled shift worked as scheduled, +15; a perfect week (every scheduled shift worked and on time, and no call-out with less than 24 hours' notice), +50; each Getting started step done, +10, and +100 when it reaches 100%; picking up an open shift, +25; a thank-you from the family or the agency, +20 (one a day from each sender). The owner can change any rule's points, switch it off, and cap the photo, meal photo, log and open-shift rules.

Points are never taken away for a late clock-in or a call-out: those simply don't earn. A photo or a log earns once; deleting it, unticking the photo, or taking it back with Undo takes its points back. A call-out marked I'm sick on I can't make it, or given 24 hours or more ahead, never breaks the perfect week: nobody should come to work sick to keep a streak, and paid-sick-leave laws in many states bar penalizing protected leave. The owner can add or take away points by hand with Adjust points; a reason is required and kept with the change.

Where the family runs it: HCT Management, then Rewards & Recognition, after Reports. Its four tabs are Leaderboard (this month, or All time; the top three are marked; tap a name for the breakdown, Send a thank-you or Adjust points), Earning rules (the program on or off, each rule, the sick-protection note), Prizes and Redemptions. Send a thank-you is also on a professional's profile in My Care Team. When a professional in the home works through an agency that runs its own program, the page says so; the family's program is still the family's to run. Rewards is also a small link beside Quick actions on the Home Team Overview.

Where an agency runs it: Rewards in the organization menu, with the same four tabs; the leaderboard can be filtered by client. The agency's owner and administrators change it; its office people can look.

Prizes: the owner adds prizes with a name, a cost in points, an optional description, on or off and an optional number available, or starts from a suggestion: A paid day off, an Amazon gift card, a gas card, a cash prize or Dinner on us, each editable. A professional taps Redeem; the points are held at once. The owner sees the request under Redemptions, pending first, and taps Approve & mark given (saying how it was given) or Decline (with a reason; the points go back). Prizes are given by the family or agency, not ExpressAgain: ExpressAgain never holds or moves money or gift cards. Cash and gift cards may count as taxable income to the professional; the one giving the prize is responsible for reporting it.

Where a professional sees it: on the care-team dashboard, Billing & pay, then My rewards, next to Pay. Each program shows the points to spend, this month's points and rank, the leaderboard, the prizes, the requests and their status, and the history of what earned what. Hide my name on the leaderboard keeps earning and shows the name as A team member to everyone else. When an action earns points, a green chip shows near the bottom of the screen for a moment, for example +5 · Meal photo, or +5 · Meal photo (2 programs) when two programs paid.

The leaderboard never shows a health detail: names are a first name and last initial, and a breakdown names the kind of action (Care log, Photo proof), never the reading. Nothing about rewards is sent by email, text or phone notification.
