When a friend asks to visit

A friend or extended family member who asks for a time through Plan to Visit is announced the moment the request saves: one line on the family Dashboard with Approve and Decline, one line on the team feed, and one phone notification under Visits booked to the people who may answer it.

Where the request appears. When a friend or an extended family member picks a day and a time on Plan to Visit, the request is saved as Pending and waits in Visitor Requests (Visit Planning, then Visitor Requests). The same moment, the family Dashboard shows one line, Visitor request: Keybae (friend) · Tue Nov 3 · 2:00–3:00 PM, with the relationship when the friend gave one, and two buttons, Approve and Decline. When several requests wait, the soonest shows with and 2 more → Visitor Requests. The line is only for a request whose day is today or ahead on the patient's clock; a request whose day has already passed stays on Visitor Requests and is not shown on the Dashboard. The line goes the moment the request is answered, from the Dashboard or from the queue.

The team feed and the phone. The Home Team feed (the stream) gets one line, Keybae asked to visit · Tue Nov 3 · 2:00–3:00 PM · Approve or decline. One phone notification, A visit request is waiting, goes to whoever runs the account, the caregiver role and family members under the Visits booked switch in Settings, never to the person who asked and never to the care team. The lock screen carries the first name only, never the day or the time; those are behind the sign-in. Quiet at night and Pause for a week apply as they do to every other notification.

Who approves. The owner, the caregiver role and family members decide: Approve on the Dashboard confirms the visit; Decline answers Not today. Visitor Requests has the same two plus Ask to wait, an optional kind note for the friend, and the patient's own private readiness flag that steers the day (on good days the patient can approve from the Visitors page). A friend or extended member never sees the Dashboard line or the queue, only their own requests.

Once approved. The feed gets one more line, Keybae (friend) is coming · Tue Nov 3 · 2:00–3:00 PM, so the Home Team sees who is coming, and the visit counts as New on the calendar: at the top of Appointments and in the Dashboard's New on the calendar line, until you have looked or until its day has passed, whichever comes first. A request still waiting is never New on the calendar; it has the Visitor request line instead. No second phone notification goes on approval.

What the friend sees. On Plan to Visit the friend's own request reads Pending, then Approved, Please wait or Not today with the family's note when one was written. The friend is not told who answered, and nothing about the patient's health is on that page.

Step by step

  1. 1Open the family Dashboard: a waiting request shows as Visitor request with the name, the relationship, the day and the time.
  2. 2Tap Approve to confirm the visit, or Decline to answer Not today; the line goes at once.
  3. 3For a note to the friend, or to Ask to wait, open Visit Planning, then Visitor Requests, and answer there.
  4. 4Once approved, see the visit under New on the calendar on Appointments and in Upcoming approved visits on Visitor Requests.
