Working for several families: My week, the patient switcher and one clock

An independent professional who works in several homes with the same sign-in sees every shift on My week, moves between patients with the Patient: chip, and can never be on the clock in two homes at once; each patient's own schedule is behind the door named after the patient.

Many professionals work for more than one family. When each family invited you with a code and you joined with the same email, you have one sign-in for all of them, and the care-team dashboard brings them together. (An agency's office has its own view of every client home, Team · all clients.)

My week is a tab behind the My shifts door, right after My shifts. It shows your own shifts in every home you work in with this sign-in, on one calendar: Week opens first (three days at a time on a phone; swipe for the next days), Day shows one day, and the line under the title reads, for example, Your shifts with all 3 patients, by the hour. Each shift is named after its patient, so you can tell the homes apart at a glance. Use ‹ and › to move and Today to come back. My shifts keeps one line, See my week across all patients, that opens it.

Tap a shift to open its card. For a shift in the home you are looking at, the card has Clock in (today) and Can't make it — offer it to the team. For a shift in another home, it has Open Sample's dashboard, named after that patient: tap it and the dashboard opens on that patient.

The patient switcher. With two families or more, the welcome card at the top of the dashboard shows Patient: and the patient's name with a small arrow, beside the greeting. Tap it for Your patients: one row per patient, with the city when the family typed one, the one you are looking at marked Current, and Clocked in where you are on the clock. Tap another patient and the dashboard reloads on that patient, on the same tab when that patient has it. The first row of doors (Today, the patient's care, the patient and Clinical) follows the patient; the second row (My shifts, My paperwork, Billing & pay, Settings) stays yours. With one family there is no chip.

One clock. You can be on the clock in only one home at a time. If you tap Clock in while a shift in another home is still open, the clock says, for example, You're clocked in at Sample's home. Clock out there first, with a button to open that patient's dashboard (and Not now). A shift you type in, or a time you fix, that would overlap a shift in another home is refused the same way. Each family only ever sees its own shifts: an agency office hears only Not available then, and a family a plain line that the time overlaps another shift, never another family's name.

Each patient's schedule. The patient's whole Schedule, with appointments, visits and shifts, is behind the door named after the patient (for example Sample's care), right after the patient's Day, as Sample's Schedule. It used to sit behind Today; Today keeps Since your last visit, Checklist, Team feed and Alerts.

Step by step

  1. 1On the care-team dashboard, tap the My shifts door, then My week.
  2. 2Read the week: each shift is named after its patient. Use ‹ and › to move and Today to come back.
  3. 3Tap a shift in another home, then Open (the patient's) dashboard to work there.
  4. 4Or tap Patient: and the name in the welcome card, and choose another patient under Your patients.
  5. 5If the clock says you're clocked in at another home, open that patient's dashboard and clock out there first.
  6. 6For a patient's own schedule, tap the door named after the patient, then the patient's Schedule.
