Client information opens after the Business Associate Agreement is signed

Before a home care or home health agency puts any client's information into ExpressAgain, ExpressAgain signs a Business Associate Agreement (a BAA) with the agency. Until then you set up your business, and adding, enrolling, importing or connecting clients waits.

Why. Your clients' health information is protected information. ExpressAgain signs a Business Associate Agreement with your agency before any of it goes in, so the agreement is in place from your first client.

What waits until it is signed. On Patients, Add a client, Enroll a patient, Bulk enroll / Import and Link this home are replaced by one card: Client information opens after the BAA is signed, with Set up your business. The same card stands on the setup's Clients step. Anything that would put a client's details in answers the same way: adding a client, enrolling a patient, importing a spreadsheet or a CCD file, connecting a home already on ExpressAgain, sending a client's family their link, the patient record, a client's Manage changes, the care plan's sections, a visit logged from the field view, a note to a patient's team, an in-home assessment request and a referral.

What stays open. Everything about your business: Setup, verification, locations, services and prices, your team and its rules, payer rates and EVV settings. Show a patient keeps working: it opens the sample family, never a real one.

Ready to start. Setup's Ready to start lists Business Associate Agreement signed among the things you still need, and the Clients step says the same, until ExpressAgain marks it signed. Add one client comes after it.

The AI helpers. Until the BAA is signed, the helpers that would send a client's health details to an outside service stay off for your agency's people: Log it reads what you say or type with its own rules; Willie talks back answers with written replies (Log it's Options says so: Willie talks back uses written replies until your agency's BAA is signed); the voice is your device's own; and reading a label photo or an uploaded care plan asks you to type the details in instead. A family's own use of ExpressAgain does not change.

When it is signed. ExpressAgain marks the BAA signed on your agency, and everything above opens at once: the buttons on Patients come back and the AI helpers work as for everyone else. Agencies that already had clients on ExpressAgain before Oct 17 keep working as before while their agreement is signed.

Step by step

  1. 1Open Patients: before the BAA is signed it reads Client information opens after the BAA is signed.
  2. 2Tap Set up your business and finish what stays open: verification, locations, services and prices, and your team.
  3. 3Talk with ExpressAgain about signing the Business Associate Agreement; we mark it signed on your agency.
  4. 4Open Patients again: Add a client, Enroll a patient and Bulk enroll / Import are there.
