Write a job description in a few taps

Answer a few questions with buttons and get a complete job description for a home care professional, written with the credentials your state allows. Edit it, polish the wording, then post it as a care request (a family) or in Post a job (an agency), or keep it as a draft.

Interview & Hire, under Find HCT, has a third tab, Job description. It asks a few questions with buttons and writes the posting for you from a fixed template, in the house's words: the person by first name, professionals (never another word), the credentials your state allows, no price from ExpressAgain. You edit the text before anything is posted.

What it asks. Who it's for: the patient's first name comes from the circle, and you can write a few lines about the person in your own words (nothing about a diagnosis unless you type it). Where: the city and state, filled from the Emergency Plan Card's address when there is one; the street never goes in a posting. How you hire: directly as a 1099 independent contractor, directly as a household employee, through a home care agency, or not decided yet; the posting states your choice and gives no tax or legal advice. What the work is: the Marketplace's task list (companionship and household help, personal care, transfers, medication assistance or reminders, medication administration, insulin, transportation, and the nursing and therapy tasks). Who you're looking for: a companion, a personal care aide, a CNA, a home health aide, or a medication-qualified professional. Schedule: add shifts from the Add shift sheet's presets (Day, Evening, Overnight, Live-in, PRN), several at once, each with its own times and days; Three 8-hour shifts, around the clock adds 8 AM to 4 PM, 4 PM to 12 AM and 12 AM to 8 AM in one tap, and any shift can be marked Gives medication. Then the start, the pay (your own number, or nothing), languages, must-haves (a driver's license and transportation, lifting, a CPR card, non-smoker, comfortable around pets, a background check, two references), nice-to-haves and anything else.

The state decides who may give medication. The role buttons offer only the roles your state allows for the tasks you ticked; a greyed role says why, in plain words. A shift marked Gives medication names only the credentials the state allows to give medication there. In South Carolina, for example, that is an LPN / LVN or an RN, and the posting says a companion, CNA or aide may not give medication in South Carolina. Where a state's rule is not on ExpressAgain yet, the writer says so and the posting promises no medication or nursing task. The rules are the same ones the Marketplace matcher uses (see How the Marketplace matches).

What a posting never carries. A requirement about sex, age, race or national origin, religion, disability or family status is refused when you type it, with a plain message under the field, and is never written in. Every posting ends with a line that the role is open to everyone without regard to those things, and a line that the family (or the agency) is the hiring party, not ExpressAgain, and that ExpressAgain does not verify anyone's credentials or run background checks. If you type caregiver or staff, the posting says professional.

Write it for me turns the answers into eight sections: About the role, Who you'd care for, Schedule, Responsibilities, Must have, Nice to have, Pay and how you're engaged, How to apply. The text opens in an editor; change anything. Polish the wording rewords the first sections for tone only, when the key for it is set on the server; every number, name and requirement must come back exactly as written or that section keeps the original wording, and when polishing is not switched on the text simply stands. Copy the text copies it for a board or an email.

Posting. A family taps Post it as a care request: the care request form opens with the description in Anything else and the tasks, schedule, credential, pay and the patient's first name filled in; you check it there and post it the way every care request is posted. Save as a draft keeps the answers and the text under Your drafts at the top of the tab, to reopen, change or delete. An agency office finds Write the job description for me on Hiring, above the Post a job form: Use it in the job form fills the title, role, employment type, pay, city, state, schedule, description and requirements, and Post it or Save as a draft work as before.
