Writing a message by hand is not built yet — the Write tab says so.

This is not built yet. The article says what exists today and what is still to come — nothing here promises a date.

Not yet. The Communicate page has a Write tab, and today it says plainly that handwriting support is coming soon. Typing (the Type tab) and tapping phrases are the ways to speak today.
