The app ships many times a day. A tab left open across an update — an iPad that never closes the app — can end up with a stale copy where a menu link renders the wrong page. The app checks for this every couple of minutes and, once it sees a newer version, every menu tap becomes a full page load that fetches the fresh app. If you see it happen, reload the page.
